Ham and Cheese Breakfast Casserole

The original recipe came from Since I use a different size casserole dish and can't ever leave a recipe alone, here's what I make.


9 slices white bread, cubed
8 ounces cooked ham, cubed
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (or whatever cheese you have, mozz, Swiss, or blends work well too)
3 eggs
1 3/4 cups milk
1/4 tsp black pepper


Lightly grease a 1-1/2 quart baking dish. Line bottom of pan with half of the bread cubes. Sprinkle ham and cheeses over the bread. Cover ham and cheese with remaining bread. Beat together eggs, milk and black pepper; pour evenly over bread. Make sure bread is nice and soggy.

Preheat oven to 375F. Bake in oven for 40 minutes, until bubbly and golden brown. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
